Puzzle quilt by cindra24 Puzzle quilt by cindra24
This is one I did for my mom. She loves frogs. I changed a paper-pieced Bali quilt design into a pieced froggy one. I used some fun fabrics and did a Bento Box pattern on the back. I used about sixteen different fabrics for the puzzle pieces. Instead of using just a plain black for the missing pieces, I used a black frog print. The Bento Box pattern is made with the black frog and a green frog skin fabric. I think that the finished size was about a full size quilt. The original pattern was a queen. It turned out to be an easy pattern to adjust. Unfortunately I did it several years ago and don't have a full size picture.

How neat . . . I love jigsaw puzzles. This would be fun to make for my 4 year old granddaughter, using lots of different novelty prints.

It was fun to make and to pick out the fabric for it.

I know a neat little quilt shop that has all sorts of really neat novelty fabrics. Their prices are a bit high, but every year the first week of April she has a 50% off sale and so I try and go every year and pick out some fun fabrics.

The puzzle quilt used smaller amounts of fabric. So I was able to get away with fat quarters. I love fat quarters because they aren't as much and I can still get a variety. Yeah, I totally understand about hitting the fabric sales.

I like fat quarters too, because, like you said, they aren't as much and you can get a variety of different prints.
